Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading, accessing or using Drifterr (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. The Service

Drifterr is a local-first app that detects when an AI chat drifts from your stated goal and constraints, and helps you re-anchor. Detection runs on your device; the only server-side component is accounts and billing.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use certain features. You're responsible for your login, for the activity under your account, and for providing accurate information. Keep your credentials secure.

4. Plans, billing & cancellation

• Drifterr offers a free plan and paid plans (Pro, Team). Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) through Stripe.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account's "Manage billing" (Stripe portal); access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Prices may change; we'll give notice before a change affects your renewal.
• Refunds: except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Contact us if something went wrong and we'll do our best to make it right.
• You are responsible for any taxes not collected by Stripe.

5. Bring your own AI provider

Drifterr relays requests to the AI provider you choose, using your own API key. You are responsible for your use of, and any fees charged by, that provider, and for complying with their terms.

6. Your content

Your conversations stay on your device. You retain all rights to them. We claim no ownership and never receive them.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: reverse-engineering our paid entitlement checks to evade payment, reselling the Service, interfering with its operation, or using it for unlawful purposes.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, branding and content, is owned by Drifterr and protected by law. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service per your plan.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Drift detection is a heuristic aid — it can miss issues or flag false positives. It is not professional, legal, financial or safety advice, and you remain responsible for your own work.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Drifterr is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or output. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. IP, disclaimers, liability) survive termination.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you. Continued use means acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts of France have jurisdiction, unless mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.
